Experience
I am a tutor with extensive experience studying and teaching math. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Tarleton State University. I also minored in English and received a teaching certification. I decided to minor in English because it helped improve my skills as a communicator. During my time at college, I worked as a tutor in a math clinic. I tutored students in calculus, statistics, geometry, and algebra. I am also comfortable tutoring students in pre-calculus, multivariable calculus, and non-Euclidean geometry. I am able to teach math at the middle and high school level. I enjoy tutoring because the expression a student gets when they finally comprehend a complex math problem is very rewarding for me. Math is often viewed as being overly complicated and difficult, but I work to erase that stigma by connecting the subject to the student's personal life. I tend to be very encouraging as a tutor because I want my students to see how important math is and just how interesting it can be. I also enjoy being able to link math to my hobbies. In my free time, I like to watch television, watch movies, read, walk my dog, and program my phone.
